What is Fire Cider - is a folk tonic: kitchen wisdom in a jar - whole plants infused in vinegar (or another food base) to capture their flavor and bite. It’s meant to be sipped, splashed, or drizzle. Great over greens, in dressings, or as a small daily sip.

Why we do it as a dry mix: Shelf-stable & fresher on demand: Dried roots/peels hold flavor until you extract them at home. Way less spoilage than premade liquid. and it is Flexible & customizable: You get to pick your own vinegar (raw ACV, white wine, etc.) and sweetener (honey or none). Great for customizing to your dietary needs.

Slow steep (best flavor):

  • Add 1 oz (by weight) dry mix per 12–16 oz 5% ACV in a jar.
  • Cap, shake daily, and steep 2–4 weeks.
  • Strain. Optional: stir in honey to taste.

Quick version (for same-day sales):

  • Simmer 1 Tbsp mix in 8 oz water for 10 minutes; cool slightly.
  • Add 8 oz ACV (don’t boil vinegar).
  • Jar it, steep 24–48 hours, then strain and (optionally) sweeten.

Serving ideas: 1–2 Tbsp in water/tea, splash on sautés or greens, whisk into dressings, add to bloody mary mix, drizzle on roasted veg.
